– Mr. MP, what do you think about Iran’s recent ugly behavior towards Azerbaijan and the military drills near Araz?
-As you know, the joint military drills of Azerbaijan and Turkey are held in accordance with the agreement on military cooperation signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey. In fact, such military drills between the two fraternal countries have recently intensified, especially on the eve of the 44-day Karabakh war and after it. These military drills are a response to the recent extreme behavior of Iran’s mullah regime towards Azerbaijan. Before talking about the course of the military drills, I would like to recall the words of the President Ilham Aliyev’s speech at the international conference “Along the Middle Corridor: Geopolitics, Security and Economics”, held in Baku on November 25: “Our army belongs to Turkey, and the army of Turkey is ours. Yes this is true. The Azerbaijani-Turkish brotherhood, which entered a new stage after the Shusha Declaration, includes joint steps to ensure the security of the two countries. From this point of view, the above-mentioned exercises can be considered as a joint warning of two brothers against the “mullah” regime in Iran,” he said. The personnel of various units of the Azerbaijani Army and the Turkish Armed Forces, military and special fortification equipment and military aviation, covering cities Baku, Astara, Jebrail and Imishli According to the information provided by the Ministry of Defense, according to the scenario, the Ground Forces, Air Force, Armed Forces, Special Forces, Fortified Areas, Missile and Artillery units of the Azerbaijan Army perform various combat training tasks together with the Turkish troops. that this information gives grounds to draw the necessary conclusion about the value of the joint military drills conducted on the Iranian border. Everyone, including the Iranian state and the regime of “mullah” that rule this state, should learn a good lesson from this. Our friends and enemies should not forget one thing: Turkish-Azerbaijani Brotherhood OE represents one people and two states, always tells the truth and will continue to work together in this direction.
-Mr. Iskenderov, lately we see that France is showing a tough stance towards Azerbaijan and unfounded claims. How can one explain the hostility of France to Turkey?
– There are many reasons for France’s hostile attitude towards Azerbaijan and Turkey. The current situation and activities of France have a long history. France is a country that has occupied almost all continents and committed genocide from the very beginning. Unlike France, the Ottoman Empire, which conquered the same countries many years ago, possessed the cultural values of these regions, did not commit human massacres, and respected the values of the people there, which earned them more respect. In addition to this approach of the French, the root of their envy of the Ottomans, Turkism and the successful policy of independent Azerbaijan lies in the processes of many years ago. Here we also see that Turkey is becoming stronger in the world, and Azerbaijan is becoming a specific center of power in the region. It should not be forgotten that today the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, is very successfully leading the Non-Aligned Movement. The “Movement of the Unbound” is a large platform on a global scale, successfully led by Ilham Aliyev. The glorious victory of Azerbaijan in the 44-day Karabakh war, which presented a peace program and was supported by many countries, alarmed France. In fact, it is not because of love for the Armenians. France is simply expressing its dislike for Azerbaijan and Turkey by supporting Armenia. Another reason why Paris is Yerevan’s older sister is the integration of the Armenian population into France. Both their entry into politics and the fact that they had great influence there were reflected in French politics. But I think that there are smart politicians in France, and they perfectly understand the true essence of such inadequate steps. In general, the absurd decisions made by the Parliament and the statements made, France is almost embarrassed. On the contrary, France, which considers itself the cradle of culture, is now harming itself. Even close neighbors Italy and England no longer take relations with France seriously. This is the result of major mistakes in today’s foreign policy of official Paris. France must reconsider its relations with Azerbaijan, and the government must compensate for these mistakes of the Parliament. Official Paris must take practical steps in this direction. Only after that Azerbaijan can reconsider its relations with France. In the truest sense of the word, we must see that France wants to provide real support in recognizing the borders to ensure peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Only after that it will be possible to say that some kind of relations with France will be built. For now, they have neglected themselves in resolving this dispute, and this is their fault. No one can speak with Azerbaijan in the language of threats!
-Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed the creation of a gas center in Turkey after the sabotage of the Kuzey-Stream gas pipeline. Thanks to this crossroads, Russia can pump gas from Nord Stream to the Black Sea region and Turkey. Can you comment on this issue?
-As you know, Azerbaijan and some other countries have already expressed their support for the proposed Russian “gas hub” project, which will be implemented in Turkey. Even President Ilham Aliyev expressed support for this project. The project certainly promises big profits and is a very interesting project. The Azerbaijani delegation will soon discuss this issue with the Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez.
