Hijran Huseynova: “We would also like  seeing museums, monuments reflecting the aggressive policy of Armenian fascism…”

“For 30 years, we have been remembed this terrible tragedy with deep sorrow.” These words were said by the Parlamentary of the Azerbaijan Republic, prof. doc. Hijran Huseynova. According to her, the Khojaly genocide, the tragedy of the 20th century, is the most striking example of the aggressive and bloody policy of Armenia:

“People who went through these terrible days, who lost their loved ones, children, relatives, are really strong people. Azerbaijan has been subjected to a policy of ethnic cleaning and genocide by Armenian nationalists for the past 200 years. Our people were expelled from their historical lands many times, and at the same time they became refugees and internally displaced persons. Khojaly was invaded by Armenian aggressors three times (1905-1097, 1918-1920 and 1992).

Violating International Law, Armenia has annexed Nagorno-Karabakh for 30 years, committing all kinds of crimes and atrocities. The whole world saw this horror in Khojaly. As a result of another massacre perpetrated by the Armenian aggressors against the Azerbaijani people, 613 people died, including 106 women, 63 children (although 63 children were recorded during the conflict, 76 children were later found killed) and 70 old people. 1275 civilians were taken prisoner, and the fate of 150 people is still unknown. As a result of this act of genocide, 8 families were completely destroyed, 25 children lost both parents, and 132 children lost one of their parents.

At the initiative of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, the Parliament of Azerbaijan adopted a decree on the Day of the Khojaly genocide and gave a political and legal assessment of this event. Important steps were also taken to bring the facts of this genocide to the attention of the world community and the international community.

Over the past years, on the initiative of Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani state has carried out consistent activities to bring the truth about the crimes committed by Armenian nationalists against our people to the world community. The Khojaly tragedy is a genocide. Great merit in bringing the truth about the tragedy to the world community belongs to the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva. On the initiative of the vice-president of the Foundation, Leyla Aliyeva, a series of events is annually implemented within the framework of the international campaign “Justice for Khojaly!”.

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation annually organizes a number of events dedicated to the Khojaly tragedy in more than 70 countries around the world. It should be emphasized that an exceptional role in the international awareness of this tragedy was played by the propaganda campaign “Justice for Khojaly”, which began in February 2009 and has been successfully carried out to this day with the participation of hundreds of volunteers from more than 50 countries of the world.

Each of us, especially young people, should play an active role in disseminating information about the events in Khojaly. It is necessary to use modern social networks and their capabilities to bring this information to a wider international audience.

The Azerbaijani Army has proved that it is strong. And the Army showed her strength during the Patriotic War, for 44 days. Today we can proudly say that we have restored the territorial integrity and sovereign rights of our people. We have begun restoration work in our Motherland, devastated and destroyed by the Armenian invaders. But very soon life will return to Karabakh. And we must never forget the historical tragedies of our people! These events are the most important pages of our history, honor and struggle, our bloody memory.

On our lands, liberated from the Armenian invaders, a special memorial complex dedicated to the Khojaly genocide must be created for future generations and the world community. We would also like to see museums, monuments reflecting the aggressive policy of Armenian fascism

We must not forget that the Khojaly genocide is a tragedy not only for Azerbaijan, but also for every Turk! Khojaly is the tragedy of the whole Turan!

We believe that historical justice will be restored, the criminals will suffer their well-deserved punishment, and the blood of our martyrs will not go unpunished.

I respectfully honor the memory of the innocent victims of the Khojaly genocide. I wish God’s mercy to all our martyrs and victims.”
